Meclizine. Meclizine is an antihistamine and anticholinergic. It works by blocking a chemical messenger in the brain, which helps to reduce or prevent vomiting. Meclizine is used to treat or prevent nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness. It is also used for vertigo (or dizziness) caused by certain inner ear problems.

Topamax. Topiramate is a neuronal stabilizing agent (aka anticonvulsant medication) that has proven effective as a Migraine preventive for some patients. It is one of only a few medications to have been approved by the FDA for Migraine prevention. As with other drugs in this category, patients should start at a low dosage and slowly taper up to therapeutic levels. The daily dose should be taken in two divides doses approximately 12 hours apart. If discontinuing this medication, it is essential to slowly taper off rather than discontinuing abruptly.

Strattera. All pediatric patients being treated with Strattera should be monitored appropriately and observed closely for clinical worsening, suicidality, clinical and unusual changes in behavior, especially during the initial few months of a course of drug therapy, or at times of dose changes, either increases or decreases. Consideration should be given to changing the therapeutic regimen, including possibly discontinuing the medication, in patients who are experiencing emergent suicidality or symptoms that might be precursors to emerging suicidality, especially if these symptoms are severe or abrupt in onset, or were not part of the patient’s presenting symptoms. A similar analysis in adult patients treated with Strattera for either ADHD or major depressive disorder (MDD) did not reveal an increased risk of suicidal ideation or behavior in association with the use of Strattera.
